Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently manage TS stream data when a streamer using a randomly accessible DVD-RAM is built.
SOLUTION: In a DVD recording/reproducing system, a set top box part STB 83 receives an MPEG transport stream constituted of a plurality of transport packets, and support information indicating the presence of a predetermined item in management information contained in the transport packet is extracted by a formatter part 90. A drive part 51 for recording data in a recording medium having management and data areas records the support information in the management area.
