Abstract:

To provide a method for producing an optical element by which various three-dimensional shapes can be formed with good machining accuracy and an optical element capable of reducing film thickness and having a micro- rugged pattern is obtained.

In the method for producing an optical element in which a thin resin film 4 on the surface of a substrate is pressed by a cylindrical section 3 having a micro-rugged pattern on the periphery to form a micro-rugged pattern, the substrate 5 is fixed on a transfer stage 7, the periphery of the section 3 is pressed on the surface of the thin resin film by a pressing means 2 and the section is rolled along the surface of the thin resin film to press and form the micro-rugged pattern on the surface of the thin resin film.
