This optical fiber attaching method is provided with a stage where an optical fiber 3 is inserted into an optical fiber positioning hole 4 of a ferrule 1 after at least one of the outside surface of the front end part of the optical fiber and the inside of the optical fiber positioning hole 4 of the ferrule 1 is coated with an adhesive R, a stage where a material K sticker than the adhesive R is arranged in or around an optical connection hole 5 of the ferrule 1, a stage where an optical fiber pressing member 20 is brought into contact with a front end face 1a of the ferrule 1, and a stage where a front end face 3a of the optical fiber 3 and the optical fiber pressing member 20 are brought into contact with each other.
