Abstract:
To provide an optical fiber cutting device, simply and accurately performing machining.
In cutting an optical fiber 2, as shown in Fig.2(a), part of the tip of the ferrule 3 is pressed to the top face of a block-like cutting part 5 having a right-angled part so that the major axis of the ferrule is substantially vertical, and is slid parallel along the top of the cutting part 5 as shown in Fig.2(b). Thus, shearing force is applied to the optical fiber 2 projected from the ferrule 3 to thereby completely cut the optical fiber.
