Abstract:

PURPOSE: To automatize reinforcement of optical fibers and to facilitate handling a device by continuously supplying an adhesive type reinforcing material, loaded to a cassette, to automatically or manually set optical fibers to reinforce optical fibers.

CONSTITUTION: Reinforcing materials 2-1 in the top loaded to a cassette 3-1 is pushed up and is supplied to a transport 4-1, and simultaneously, optical fibers which are connected by melt-fixing and are grasped by a supply clamper 8-2 fall and are supplied to a reinforcement point. Next, reinforcing materials 2-1 grasped by the transport 4-1 rise and sandwich optical fibers 1. After the supply clamper 8-2 is opened, it rises and heaters 6 are closed from both sides to pressurize and heat materials 2-1. Heater parts 6 are opened, and a cooling and ejecting clamp 8-3 is brought to grasp reinforcing materials 2 sandwiching optical fibers 1. After the transport 4-1 opens and falls, the cooling and ejecting clamper 8-3 rises and cools and ejects optical fibers, thus terminating reinforcement.
