Title:
OPTICAL FIBER RIBBON WOVEN TO SMART-SKIN-ARRAY, ARRAY OBJECT AND PACKAGING THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3808521
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an optical fiber ribbon woven to a smart-skin-array, an array object and the packaged structure.
CONSTITUTION: In a woven structure, optical fibers are arranged and held inside the structure, so as to raise the optical efficiency to a maximum. The structure is constituted of fibers not being the optical fibers which extend in both directions of longitudinal threads 10A-10D and lateral threads 11A-11D, and the optical fibers 12A-12F are arranged inside a guide path between the fibers for supporting, in the longitudinal thread direction. One of the selected longitudinal thread direction of the fibers which are nor the optical fibers may be turned into a conductor of electricity. The structure is manufactured by using known weaving machine, positioning both the optical fibers and the longitudinal thread fibers which are not the optical fibers and weaving the lateral thread fibers to a prescribed position, without causing minute amount of bending and interruption of the optical fibers. The structure is woven by using the optical fiber, arranged at the position of a zero longitudinal thread.
