Title:
OPTICAL FIBER SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001099754
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To convert a deformation or a collapse or the like of a hazardous point such as a slope existing in a wide area such as, for example, along a road into a deformation or a rupture of an optical fiber for safely and quickly observing the deformation or the like of the hazardous point by light.

In this optical fiber sensor, a load of a monitoring objective such as fallen gravel from collapsed ground acts on an optical fiber extended part 35 extended outside causing a winding part 33 windingly housing an optical fiber to be reductively deformed inside a sensor unit 31 by tension acting on the optical fiber extended part 35 and the optical fiber is urged so as to wind around an optical fiber deformation member 34 housed inside the winding part 33 for causing bending deformation and rupture.
