Abstract:
To provide a small sized optical head capable of performing optical recording/reproducing of high speed and high density.
Laser beams 2a exited from a semiconductor laser 2 are condensed on the surface 6a to be condensed of a transparent condensing medium 6 and an optical spot 9 is formed. Near-field light 10 oozes out from the fine opening 7a of a photodetecting element 7 formed on the surface 6b to be condensed and is recorded on the recording layer 8a of the optical disk 8. In reproducing, a majority of reflected light from the recording layer 8a is absorbed into the photodetecting element 7 and reproducing signal processing is performed.
