PURPOSE: To obtain an optical information recording material comprising an organic non-toxic material derived from a living body and having affinity to human bodies, by producing the optical information recording material by providing a layer comprising a metallic complex salt of porphyrin on a substrate.
CONSTITUTION: A layer 3 comprising a metallic complex salt of porphyrin is provided on a substrate 2 comprising a film or sheet of a plastic, paper, metal, glass, ceramic or the like to produce an optical information recording medium 1. The metallic complex salt of porphyrin may be chlorophyll, cytochrome, heme, hematin or the like, the selection thereof can be appropriately made according to the use of the recording medium, the kind and wavelength of light used, or the like. The thickness of the layer 3 is preferably 1W100μm. The layer 3 comprising the porphyrin salt can be provided on the substrate 2 by, for example, spraying or applying a liquid containing the porphyrin salt to the substrate.
