To provide an optical information reproducing device capable of reproducing optical information exceeding the resolving limit with a simple configuration independently of the material of a medium to be detected.

This optical information reproducing device is provided with a light source 211 emitting a spatially coherent light beam, a convergent optical system 22 for converging the light beam from the light source as plural convergent light beams on a medium 207 to be detected, plural diffraction gratings GA-GE which are provided corresponding to these plural convergent beams and which are arranged close to the medium to be detected, a detecting optical system 24 for detecting each of the plural convergent beams in the reflected light from the medium, and a processing device 25 for reproducing the optical information of the medium from the value detected by the detecting optical system. The device further has a scanning means 23 for relatively two- dimensionally scanning the medium to be detected and the plural convergent beams, and the processing device 25 reproduces the planar image of the medium by synthesizing detected signals through the two-dimensional scanning of the plural convergent beams by the scanning means.
