Abstract:
To provide an optical instrument having a diffractive optical member which has little distortion of the diffraction plane, in which axis alignment can be easily carried out and which gives preferable optical performance and to provide an original reading device which uses the appliance.
The diffractive optical member is obtained by joining two gratings having different outer diameters and one or more layers of grating parts with the grating parts facing each other. The optical member holds one of the two gratings in a holding frame.
