This optical intensity modulator is provided with a substrate 500 of a prescribed material, an optical waveguide 508 formed in a circular curve on the substrate 500, and an electrode 512 formed above the optical waveguide 508 aligned with the optical waveguide 508, and is arranged so that the optical waveguide 508 is changed in the refractive index according to an electric field strength impressed on the electrode 512, and the substrate is irradiated with light waves passing through a prescribed point of the optical waveguide 508 according to the changed refractive indexes.
