Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a LiTaO3 single crystal for optical use excellent in transmittance of light without coloring and to provide its production method.
CONSTITUTION: This LiTaO3 single crystal for optical use has ≤0.08cm-1 absorptivity for λ≥400nm wavelength. A LiTaO3 single crystal produced by a drawing method is subjected to heat treatment at ≥700°C for two or more hours in a reductive or inert gas atmosphere.
