Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an excellent optical material consisting mainly of a silicon atom-contg. polymer, causing little fading, leaching and bleedout of the colorant contained therein.
CONSTITUTION: The objective optical material consisting mainly of a silicon atom-contg. polymer is characterized by containing a metal complex dye. This optical material, which causes little fading and leaching of the colorant contained therein, can be applied as a medical material to come into contact with or to be implanted into the living body, such as contact lens or intraocular implants.
