Abstract:
To prevent unintended leakage light from being formed by a display element to improve display quality.SOLUTION: A display unit 100 or an optical module 15 comprises: a display element 11 that emits image light ML; an imaging optical system 12 as a light guide optical device that has non-axial symmetry in a predetermined direction and forms an exit pupil through guiding the image light ML from the display element 11; and a light-shielding member 31 that is arranged between the display element 11 and the imaging optical system 12. The light-shielding member 31 has a light-shielding part 31s that is arranged in a display area A0 of the display element 11 while superimposed on a non-use area R02 where an image is not displayed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
