In either an aligning optical module having a lens for adjusting an optical axis between the optical element and the optical fiber or an aligning optical module having an optical element and an optical fiber with a lens, an optical fiber holder is supported by an optical axis adjusting means composed of a support structure movable along a spherical surface that crosses orthogonally with the optical axis, and the angle of incidence of light made incident on the optical element from the optical fiber is adjusted by moving the optical fiber holder along the spherical surface that crosses orthogonally with the optical axis.
