Abstract:
This optical module comprises: a support body having a lateral wall part and a bottom wall part provided with wiring; a light reception element disposed on the bottom wall part such that a first reception surface and second reception surface face in one direction; a first fiber-optic plate that is disposed on the light reception element such that a first output surface and the first reception surface face each other; a second fiber-optic plate that is disposed on the light reception element such that a second output surface and the second reception surface face each other; a light emission element that is disposed on the light reception element so as to be positioned between the first fiber-optic plate and second fiber-optic plate; a first wire that connects a wiring terminal and a first terminal of the light reception element; and a first resin member that covers the wiring terminal, the first terminal of the light reception element, and the first wire. An end surface of the lateral wall part on one side is disposed further to that side than the first light reception surface and second light reception surface.
