Abstract:
To input card information in a portable device including a portable phone and a PDA, etc. and to use the portable device as substitute for a card.
The card information is inputted in a personal portable terminal incorporated with an optical transceiver such as the portable phone or the PDA and the optical transceiver is connected to a card inquiry terminal machine to thereby optically transmit and receive the card information. The card inquiry terminal machine is constituted so as to recognize the received card information in the same manner as that of the card reader reading a magnetic card and to transmit the card information to a VAN company server or a card company server, to then request for an approval and to settle transactions.
