Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce loss in the laser power as much as possible for information recording and reproducing in an optical pickup which employs a front monitor method to stabilize the optical output.
SOLUTION: For the front monitor, the first-order diffracted light (the outputted first-order diffracted light) of the element of a hologram laser is utilized which has so far not utilized. In short, the loss is reduced in the laser power by passing all the 0th-order diffracted light of the hologram element used for information recording and reproducing, and reflecting its first-order diffracted light only.
