Abstract:

PURPOSE: To detect the continuous change in position of a body to be checked, by providing a position detecting optical fiber bundle which is formed by arranging a plurality of fibers having the same diameter in a zigzag shape or in a matrix shaped in a rectangular form, by providing an optical fiber bundle for setting a pair of detecting ranges, and converting light from a light source through the optical fiber bundles into electric signals in correspondence with the amounts of the received light rays.

CONSTITUTION: When a body to be checked 51 reaches a light receiving region of a light receiving fiber bundle 13, the reflected light from the body to be checked 51 is inputted to a light receiving surface 13a of the light receiving fiber bundle 13 in response to the position of the body to be checked 51. Therefore, an output signal C of a photoelectric converter 16 is increased in correspondence with the amount of the received light. Since an output signal E of an operational amplifier 20 is linearly changed from the maximum voltage to the minimum voltage, the continuous change in position of the body to be checked 51 is detected. When the body to be checked 51 is present in the entire light receiving region of the light receiving fiber bundle 13, only the reflected light of the body to be checked 51 is inputted to the light receiving fiber bundle 13, and the output signal C of the photoelectric converter 16 becomes the maximum level.
