Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a mechanism from becoming complicated, to attain space saving, to suppress the increment of cost, and to effectively carry and read printing characters or the like by arranging a slope cam for holding a part of a circle or a circular arc having a diameter far larger than the diameter of a press roller at a level lower than the height of a roller projection in a carrier on the inside or a part of the roller.
SOLUTION: A paper sheet 6 is carried by pressing the surface of the sheet 6 to the glass surface 24 of an image scanner 1 by the press roller 2 to keep a distance between the paper surface and a CCD 9 included in an image scanner 1 at a fixed value. A slope cam 4 is loaded between rollers obtained by dividing the roller 2, held by a shaft 10 together with the roller 2 and can be vertically moved by proper lifting force based on a spring 15. The maximum projection height of the cam 4 can maintain a gap F (= maximum paper thickness) between the cam 4 and the glass surface 24 by forming recessed stoppers 4c, 4d on the front and rear end parts of the cam 4.
