Title:
OPTICAL RECEIVER AND OPTICAL RECEPTION METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3712060
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical receiver whose quality of a received signal and electric performance are prevented from lowering when an optical signal including noise and waveform distortion is received.
SOLUTION: The optical receiver is provided with a step response element 1 for comparing a level of a received optical signal with a threshold Vth and for outputting the received optical signal by performing waveform shaping to the signal based on a comparison result, an optical power monitor 4 for monitoring average optical power of the received optical signal to be inputted in the step response element 1, a threshold level setting part 5 for setting the threshold Vth of the step response element 1 as the optimal value based on an optical power monitored value from the optical power monitor 4, an optic/ electric conversion part 2 for outputting the received optical signal from the step response element 1 by converting the signal into an electric signal and a clock/date reproduction part 3 for reproducing the electric signal from the optic/electric conversion part 2 as a clock signal and a data signal.
