Title:
OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2674393
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To record information through a brand-new mechanism utilizing chromic resin which develops a color upon irradiation with ultrasonic ray and decolors upon heating.
CONSTITUTION: The optical recording medium comprises a recording layer composed of a chromic resin containing structural unit wherein two nitrogen atoms are bonded directly to one aromatic ring at the farthest position thereof and an alkylene group is bonded to at least a part of the nitrogen atom so that the two nitrogen atoms are subjected to tertiary substitution. The resin can be produced through reaction of an epoxy resin, paraphenylenediamine and 2,6-naphthalenediamine wherein coloring and decoloring are realized by means of halogen and cation radical stabilizer. Coloring and decoloring properties are utilized for recording of information. Since a chromic resin is employed, contrast is enhanced between coloring and decoloring resulting in a highly sensitive optical recording medium.
