To stably record images of high quality by providing an optical scanner which can make a scan with a light beam of stable light intensity by reducing the influence of return light with simple constitution even if the return light is generated by reflection in a portion of an optical system and an image recording device equipped with the optical scanner.
The optical scanner which drives the light beam emitted by a light source by an optical scanning means to make a scan is characterized in that a tapered surface 54a which decreases in diameter toward the tip of an end of an optical member support body (lens barrel 54) supporting an optical member (collimator lens 24) transmitting the light beam is formed at the front end of the optical member support body in the optical path.
