PURPOSE: To realize two-dimensional scanning by scanning light in an optical scanner using a light deflector.
CONSTITUTION: The optical scanner 10 is constituted of the light deflectors 11 and 12, driving circuits 13 and 14, a light source 15 and a convex lens 16. The light deflector 11 is arranged to generate parallel fringe in a vertical direction when voltage is impressed thereon, and the light deflector 12 is arranged to generate the parallel fringe in a horizontal direction when the voltage is impressed thereon. The voltage impressed on the light deflectors 11 and 12 is respectively independently controlled by the driving circuits 13 and 14. Light from the light source 15 is made a focused light beam by the convex lens 16 and deflected in the horizontal direction by the light deflector 11, then it is deflected in the vertical direction by the light deflector 12 to be the scanning light.
