Abstract:

PURPOSE: To transmit signaling signals to subscribers without providing a light source in an optical exchange.
CONSTITUTION: The amplitude of optical communication signals inputted to optical modulators 105 to 107 through input lines 101 to 103 and a matrix optical switch 104 is modulated in accordance with signaling signals 108 to 110 and then the modulated outputs are sent to output lines 112 to 114 through a matrix optical switch 111.
