Title:
OPTICAL SYSTEM FOR MISSILE TARGET DETECTING AND TRACKING APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03162690
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To converge a part of electromagnetic energy on a focal surface by a collection system by processing a signal generated by a detector along the intersection line of the detector with the surface or adjacently matched by a processor when the surface is deviated from the detecting surface.

CONSTITUTION: A scanning and converging unit 18 supported by a gimbal converges a part of the radiation energy passing the front part of a missile 10 at one point on a focal surface 26 and scans the focal point along a circular route on the surface 26 by rotating it around a rotary shaft 37. When the unit 18 is supported via the gimbal to the body of the missile 10 by the operating force generated and coupled to a gimbal controller 24 so as to pitch and yaw, the surface 26 is deviated to a detecting surface 30. Even if a part of the array 28 of the deviated detectors is out of focus, the intersection line of the surface 30 and the surface 26 or adjacent part is substantially focused. At this time, a processor 22 identifies it, generates a signal of a collimation deviation to the target, and guides it to the target.
