PURPOSE: To transmit the light wave and electric signal concurrently with low loss by constituting the whole or part of a clad section or a jacket section with a superconductive material.
CONSTITUTION: The whole or part of a clad section 2 or the whole or part of a jacket section 3 of an optical transmission path is made of a superconductor. Since the electric resistance of the superconductor is 0, when this superconductor is used for the whole or part of the clad section and jacket section of the optical transmission path, the leakage of the electric field of the light wave into the superconductor is almost 0, thus an increase of the transmission loss of the light wave is not caused. The optical transmission path using the superconductor material for the covering can transmit the light wave and electric signal with low loss because the superconductor transmits the electric energy with no loss as it is well known.
