Title:
OPTICAL TRANSMITTER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6010932
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To confirm easily luminous amount at the light emitting side by converting the luminous amount transmitted in a fiber in a small scale optical transmission system into an electric signal and activating a variable announciator by the signal level.

CONSTITUTION: A current is applied to a light emitting diode by turning on a switch SW, and after a light is injected and transmitted in an optical fiber C, the light is irradiated from the tip of a connector 11 at the other end. This light is received by a photodetecting receptacle and converted into an electric signal, amplified at a photodetecting amplifier E and fed to a level discriminating section F. The level discrimination of this level discriminating section F is set variably or stepwise and an output is obtained depending on the presence of a required photodetecting level. Then the luminous amount is confirmed from the light irradiating side by allowing the discriminating level to generate a sound different from tone color or tone scale from a sounding device SP or changing luminescent color of an illuminant device PL.
