Abstract:
PURPOSE:To facilitate manufacture, improve high detection precision, and permit the positioning at a number of points. CONSTITUTION:A pulse slit train consisting of thirteen slits 25a-25m and a linear slit train consisting of thirteen slits 25A-25M are arranged in parallel on a mask 5, and the interval between the slits at both the edges is set to 0.20, -0.20, and the interval between the slits at the center is set to 0, and the interval between other slits is set to + or -0.08 (alpha, beta), and the slit light which passes through each slit train is received by a pulse side PSD 24 which shifts, together with the second group lens, and a linear side PSD 23. Pulse counting is carried out according to the signal of the PSD 24, and the absolute position is judged by comparing the outputs of the PSDs 24 and 23.
