To provide a high-sensitive optical ultrasonic microphone capable of measuring sound pressure up to an ultrasonic range.
This optical ultrasonic microphone comprises an acoustic waveguide 6 for taking and propagating sound wave from an opening 4, a photoacoustic propagation medium 2 for forming at least a part of a wall surface of the acoustic waveguide 6, and an LDV head 8. The sound wave travelling in the acoustic waveguide 6 is taken into the photoacoustic propagation medium 2, and the variation in refractive index due to the travel of the sound wave into the photoacoustic propagation medium 2 is caused at high efficiency, and is taken as optical modulation by the LDV head 8, thereby constituting the optical ultrasonic microphone of extremely wide band.
