Condenser lenses provided with position adjustment means for adjusting an irradiation position on the liquid crystal panel are arranged between a first dichroic mirror for separating white convergent light radiated from a light source into two kinds of color light of first color light and its complementary color light first and a mirror for turning the first color light toward a first image display element side corresponding to the first color light, and between the first dichroic mirror and a second dichroic mirror for separating the complementary color light into second color light and third color light, on an optical path of each color light after the first dichroic mirror.
