To provide an optical writing device capable of suppressing deterioration of optical performance.SOLUTION: An optical writing device comprises: a plurality of light source substrates 21a, 21b, 21c for emitting light; and an optical element 20B. The plurality of light source substrates 21a, 21b, 21 are laminated and arranged in an optic axis direction (x axis direction) of the optical element 20B. The plurality of light source substrates 21a, 21b, 21 comprise: a light permeable glass substrate 22; a light source which is arranged on one main surface of the glass substrate 22 and emits the light; and a driver IC 24 for driving the light source. A projection position which is a center of the driver IC 24 included in one light source substrate out of the light source substrates 21a, 21b, 21 and when being projected on a plane orthogonal to the optic axis direction, and a projection position of a center of the driver IC 24 included in other light source substrate adjacent to the one light source substrate out of the light source substrates 21a, 21b, 21 are different from each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
