Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce crosstalk between transmission signal and a reception signal and to reinforce lights against mechanical disturbance in single fiber two-way communication of a plastic optical fiber (POF).
SOLUTION: A plug 3 with a POF 1 whose point 2 is spherical stuck thereto is connected to a receptacle 4 to which a transmitter/receiver 30 is stuck. A light receiving element 8 and a light emitting element 9 are mounted on substrate 13, 14 and 13a back to back so that respective axes (the direction of the highest sensitivity) coincide with the axis of the POF 1. Received light 7 arrives at the light receiving element 8 in an intensity distribution with the axis of the POF as the center of a point symmetry, transmitted light 5 emitted from the light emitting element 9 in a direction opposite from the POF 1 is reflected at a prism reflection surface of a lower prism 10 and a second prism reflection surface 11a to be made incident on the POF from an outer circumferential part in an intensity distribution with the axis of the POF as the center of a point symmetry, resisting mechanical disturbance of a position, vibrations, curvature, etc. Transmitted reflected light 6 is reflected outward to prevent the transmitted light 5 from reaching the light receiving element 8 with a light shielding plate 16a, and to prevent crosstalk.
