Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an optically active crosslinked polymer useful for resolving a racemic mixture into optical antipodes thereof and excellent in resolving power by selecting a polymer comprising specified repeating structural units.
CONSTITUTION: There is provided an optically active (meth)acrylamide polymer containing repeating structural units represented by formula I (wherein R1 is H or CH3; R2 is one of the stereoisomers of the eight possible stereoisomeric forms of each of the optically active radicals of formulas II and III). Desirably, the polymer has a degree of swelling (volume before swelling/volume after swelling) of 1.1-5 as measured in toluene/ethyl acetate (volume ratio of 3:2), a bulk density of 1.52-2.5 (ml/g), a particle diameter distribution of 1-500 (μm), an N content (excluding N in the crosslinking agent) of 3.5-6.3%, and an N content (including N in the crosslinking agent) of 6.3-13.
