Abstract:

To obtain a new optically active polymer useful as an optical resolution agent.

This new polymer, an optically active polymaleimide derivative having an optical rotation of ≥190° is obtained by anionic polymerization of the corresponding melamine derivative in the presence of an optically active ligand. The new optically active polymer thus obtained is used as an optical resolution agent.
