Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an oral vaccine consisting of an antigen and a lipid such as glycolipid having bonded mannose, generating an antibody in high efficiency after oral administration, having excellent phylactic effect and safety and useful for the prevention of influenza, etc.

CONSTITUTION: The objective oral vaccine is a complex such as a lipid membrane structure (e.g. liposome) composed of an antigen of microorganism or an antigen of attenuated microorganism and a lipid such as glycolipid having bonded mannose [e.g. 4-0--(6-0-eicosanoyl-/β-D-mannopyranosyl)-D-mannopyranose] and/or phospholipids consisting of phosphatidylserine.
