Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively restrain reduction in luminance, the occurrence of a dark spot and the degradation with the lapse of time such as the expansion by fixing a sealing plate on a base board in a joining part except for an area for forming an organic EL structure, and arranging a sealing resin including a drying agent around the joining part. SOLUTION: An organic EL element has an organic EL structure 2 formed on a base board 1 and a sealing plate 3 arranged at a prescribed interval so as to cover this organic EL structure 2. The sealing plate 3 is adhered/fixed and sealed by an adhesive 4. A sealing resin 5 is arranged in close contact so as to cover the outer periphery of a joining part of the sealing plate 3 fixed by the adhesive 4. A drying agent included in this sealing resin 5 is desirably added by about 0.5 to 30 wt.%. A glass plate is desirably cited as a material of the sealing plate 3. Alkaline glass is desirable as a glass material. A cation type adhesive causing no obstruction by oxygen and advancing polymerization reaction even after light irradiation is desirable as the sealing adhesive 4.
