To provide an organic electroluminescent device having optimum light emitting characteristics.SOLUTION: An organic electroluminescent device 100 includes a light-emitting layer 105A having a compound in which boron of a formula (1) is surrounded by an aryl ring or a multimeric compound having a plurality of structures in each of which the boron of the formula (1) is surrounded by the aryl ring, and an anthracene derivative compound having line symmetry (two-fold symmetry) about the long axis of an anthracene skeleton of a formula (2).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
