To provide an organic electroluminescent element of an upper surface light-emitting type, which has a multilayered anode composed of an hole injection electrode layer and a reflective film layer, in which a luminous efficiency is enhanced by reflecting light generated in a light emission layer by the reflective film layer having a high reflection factor as soon as the hole injection electrode layer injects holes.
The organic electroluminescent element includes: a first anode 301 of a reflection factor 60% or higher, which is formed on a substrate 308; a second anode 302 which is formed on the fist anode and is composed of a conductive metal or its oxide having a work function in a range of 4.3-5.8eV; organic films (303-306) formed on the second anode; and a cathode 307 formed on the organic film.
