Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain highly humid, stable light emitting properties and provide an element with its superior durability by a positive hole transport layer containing an aromatic diamine compound of its specific structure.
SOLUTION: A compound is expressed by formula I or II, wherein Ar1 and Ar2 each represents an aromatic group or aromatic complex circle group that may have a substituted group, respectively; R1 to R14 each represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a carboxy group, a hydroxide group, an alkyl group that may have each substituted group, an aralkyl group, alkenyl group, an amino group, an amide group, an alkoxy carbonyl group, an alkoxy group, an aromatic hydrocarbon group that may have a substituent, or an aromatic complex circle group that may have a substituent; at least one of R1 to R14 represents a substituent other than a hydrogen atom. X is selected from divalent aromatic residues that may have substituents. X is preferably a phenylene group that may have a substituent, a byphenylene group, a tarphenylene group, or the like.
