Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject glass, having a low specific gravity and a high refractive index, excellent in impact resistance and useful as lenses, etc., of eyeglasses by copolymerizing raw materials, kept in a state thereof containing allyl phenylbenzoate, etc., and diallyl phthalate, etc., as essential components and prepared so as to provide a prescribed viscosity.
CONSTITUTION: This glass is obtained by copolymerizing raw materials, containing (A) allyl 2-phenylbenzoate and/or allyl 3-phenylbenzoate and/or allyl 4-phenylbenzoate and (B) one or more compounds of diallyl phthalate, diallyl isophthalate, diallyl terephthalate, diallyl adipate, triallyl isocyanurate and triallyl trimellitate monomers, diallyl 1,2-cyclohexanedicarboxylate, diallyl 1,3- cyclohexanedicarboxylate, diallyl 1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylate, diethylene glycol diallyl carbonate and diallyl phthalate prepolymer as essential components and prepared so as to provide 20-8000 cP viscosity at 30°C.
