Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a multiple oxide having a high affinity for an org. solvent and a resin by preparing a sol contg. dispersed porous fine particles having a large specific surface area.
SOLUTION: This multiple oxide sol contains dispersed fine particles of a multiple oxide contg. org. groups bonding directly to silicon and consisting of silica and one or more kinds of inorg. oxides other than silica. When the average particle diameter and a specific surface area of the fine particles are represented by Dp(nm) and S(m2/g), respectively, the inequality S≥3,000/Dp is satisfied. This sol is obtd. by simultaneously adding a hydrolyzate of an alkali metallic silicate, ammonium silicate or silicate of an org. base and an alkali-soluble inorg. compd. to an aq. alkali soln. of ≥pH10 and purifying the resultant colloidal particles.
