PURPOSE:To allow the exhibition of excellent nonlinearity and the efficient generation of multiple waves by consisting the above material of a specific tetralone deriv. or cyclic ketone deriv. CONSTITUTION:This material consists of the tetralone deriv. expressed by formula I or the cyclic ketone deriv. expressed by formula II. In the formulas I, II, R1 to R10 denote an arom. hydrocarbon group, heterocyclic group, aliphat. hydrocarbon group, alicyclic hydrocarbon group or characteristic group which may be the same or different and which may be substd. or unsubstd. or a hydrogen atom. A1 and A2 denote an electon donative heterocyclic group which may be subsd. or unsubstd. or an arom. hydrocarbon group or heterocyclic group introduced with an electron donative heterocyclic group. Or, A1 and A2 denote electron donative heterocyclic group which may be substd. or unsubstd. in the beta position or an arom. hydrocarbon group introduced with an electron donative heterocyclic group or a vinyl group having a heterocyclic group. X dotes a cyclic ketone compd. having hydroxyl groups.
