Abstract:

PURPOSE:To form an organic thin film having excellent orientation and to put it to practical use as a display element, etc. CONSTITUTION:Regarding an organic thin film element having at least one organic thin film layer 3 on a substrate 1, an interfacial layer 2 containing atoms of polarization of more than 2X10<-24>cm<3> and surface density of more than 1X10<14>cm<-2> is provided, on the lowermost surface of the base of the organic thin film 3. Or, the interfacial layer is a layer-like structural material, and is composed of a compound containing intercurrants between layers, or layer-like structural material having dissimilar atoms on the surface.
