To provide a new organic thin film wherein nanometer size metal fine particle-dispersed structures are constructed in an arbitrary highly ordered organic polymer, to provide a method for producing the same, and to provide an optically recording medium capable of recording and reproducing information in a recording density which can not be realized by a conventional optical disk and exceeds the diffraction limit of a pickup lens.
This organic functional thin film is characterized by having micro phase-separated structures formed from a block copolymer in which mutually non-compatible polymer chains are bonded, having releasable substituents on the polymer for forming one of the separated phases of the micro phase-separated structure, and containing metal fine particles in pores 10 formed by the release of the substituents.
