To provide an unconventional novel treating apparatus of organic waste which can dispose of the organic waste, especially litter and medical waste, after attaining aseptic condition and detoxication by disinfection or sterilization of microorganisms and disease germs bred hereon or adhering thereto.
In a pressure resistant vessel 1, the organic waste is hydrolyzed while being agitated under circumstances of high temperature and high pressure and further is subjected to pyrolysis and carbonization treatment. This waste treating apparatus is provided with at least a steam supply means 9 for supplying saturated steam of high temperature into the vessel 1, a pressure adjusting means 10 for adjusting pressure in the vessel 1 by a stop valve and an agitation means 6 a shaft 7 of which is provided by penetrating inside of the vessel 1 in order to agitate the charged waste in the vessel. After temperature is adjusted to ≥230°C and pressure is adjusted to 3MPa, the waste is agitated in the vessel 1 so as to be dried and to carry out above-mentioned treatment. Further the treated waste is discharged by adjusting pressure in the vessel 1 to be below atmospheric pressure by the pressure adjusting means 10.
