The organism image matching apparatus has a target image preparing section, a selecting section, a synthesized image preparing section, and a determining section. In this case, the target image preparing section prepares a target image made by deforming an original shape image of the organism. The selecting section selects factors related to the generation of the deformation from the genetic information of the organism. The synthesized image preparing section forms a synthesized image by adopting the selected factors to the original shape image. The determining section determines the similarity degree by comparing the target image with the synthesized image.
