Abstract:
To provide an asymmetric reduction catalyst useful for the production of an optically active alcohol compound and a method for the production of an optically active alcohol compound by using the asymmetric reduction catalyst.
The organometallic compound is expressed by general formula (1) (in the general formula (1), R1 and R2 are each independently an alkyl group, a phenyl group, a naphthyl group, a cycloalkyl group, or an alicyclic ring formed by binding R1 and R2; R3 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; Cp is an optionally substituted cyclopentadienyl group bound to M1 via a bond; X1 is a halogen atom or a hydrido group; M1 is rhodium or iridium; and * denotes an asymmetric carbon).
