Abstract:

To obtain a lubricant composition which has a low friction, a high wear resistance, a high heat resistance, and a good balance among these properties; and a grease composition.

The organomolybdenum lubricant composition contains an organomolybdenum compound and a lubricant base oil. The organomolybdenum compound in the lubricant composition has sulfur, phosphorus, nitrogen, and molybdenum atoms in its molecule and shows <1% solubilities in water, ethanol, toluene, chloroform, and methyl isobutyl ketone. The organomolybdenum compound contains 8-35 mass% molybdenum atoms, 2-17 mass% sulfur atoms, 0.2-3 mass% phosphorus atoms, and 1-10 mass% nitrogen atoms. The grease composition is prepared by adding a base grease to the lubricant composition.
